Merry Christmas Everyone!

Malo e lele, Talofa lava, and greetings to all. As you already know, my name is Kalisi and today, I just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas because why not? I hope all of you boys and girls have a fantastic holiday! Doing Summer Learning Journey has been so enjoyable, and I just wanted to say that I appreciate the people who take the time out of their day to create activities just for us. I am really thankful, and once again, Merry Christmas!

Post Card from the Sea – Step it up! SLJ

Malo e lele readers! Today for my new Summer Learning Journey (SLJ) activity I made a postcard about exploring Hauraki Gulf and I was talking about exploring sea creatures and wishing they could come and enjoy Hauraki Gulf together! And last but not least I created an image for my postcard like one you might have seen in the video. Here it is and I hope you liked both of them!

Ngā Manu Moana – He taumata anō

Kia ora everyone, today for my activity I had to make another mosaic art and it had to be another New Zealand bird but that’s okay because I actually quite enjoyed it! The bird I had to make was a Tuku bird the Kotuku is known for its striking all-white plumage, which makes it easily recognizable. During the breeding season, it grows long, delicate plumes on its back, which were once highly prized in Māori culture and used in ceremonial dress. And while the Kotuku is often seen alone, it is also a migratory bird. It travels between New Zealand and other parts of the Pacific during different times of the year, seeking out wetlands and estuaries where it can hunt for fish, eels, and other small aquatic creatures. I hope you learned something from my blog and have a lovely day!

Nga Manu Moana – Kick Start SLJ

Kia ora everyone! Today for my other Summer Learning Journey activity I’ve made a Kiwi Bird out of these different types of shapes and colours! We had to make Mosiac art birds but New Zealand birds! This was a fun way of being creative and did you know Kiwis actually have tiny wings but still cannot fly! Amazing right? Goodbye and have a good day!

Mosaic Art – Kick Start SLJ

Today, I have created a masterpiece called Mosaic Art. Normally, mosaic art is made from different types of glass, but I made mine using polyline and just one shape! My sea creature might look like a dolphin, but it is actually an African Bottlenose Dolphin. This project was both fun and challenging, but I really enjoyed it because of how great the final result turned out. I hope you enjoy it too!

Mosiac Art – Step it up

Today, for my Summer Learning Journey (SLJ), I created a poster about “The Big Five Marine Animals.” The Big Five Marine are five sea animals found around Africa, and they are: the African Seal, African Bottlenose Dolphin, African Penguin, African Whale, and the Great White Shark. These animals are considered the Big Five Marine species.

I also hope you enjoyed my video! Thank you for taking the time to look at my work. Goodbye!

Sea Creature Poem – Kick Start SLJ

Today for my new Summer Learning Journey (SLJ) activity, I had to create a poem based on a sea creature. My sea creature poem was about an octopus, and here’s how I did it! First, I made a copy of the template and started off with the first sentence. Then, I went all the way down, making sure I included some facts about the octopus and added them in. I then finished off with a sentence saying, “I am a unique octopus, and no one can change that!” And I also made a little slide at the bottom too!

Among us Sea Escape – Step it up SLJ

Kia ora everyone! Today, for my Summer Learning Journey (SLJ), I had to create an Among Us game based on the sea! I started by making a copy of the template and then picked a sea creature to feature. Next, I added the questions with both the correct and incorrect answers. After finishing all the questions and answers, I completed the game and added it to my blog!

Sea Safari – Kick Start SLJ

Hello readers! Today for my Summer Learning Journey (SLJ) activity I made a rainbow fish out of Polypad. Did you know that rainbow fishes only lie up to 5 years to 8? Amazing right and there’s one more fact there are more than 70 species of rainbowfish grouped into several different families. They average about 4-6 inches long, and they have thin bodies. Rainbow fishes colours stand out really well and are amazing, that’s what makes them very beautiful!

Hope you enjoyed my blog!
